The friendly confines of Wrigley Field combines great history with a great place to watch a game. We sat in the terrace boxes which are below the girder line in the stadium. I would think if you are above the girder line there could be some obstructed views of the field depending on the angle you are looking. The temperature was in the mid 80′s and we were underneath the overhang so it was an excellent location to watch the game. The Cubs purposefully keep the environment as traditional as possible. Wrigley is the second oldest park in MLB,built in 1914. Advertisements are at a very minimum and there is no large video screen. They still have a scoreboard where there are actual people inside putting up numbers by hand. Imagine that! The ivy on the outfield walls is just starting to grow so we did not get the full visual effect of the dark green on the walls that will be there in another month. For lunch both Dottie and I had a Frito Pie Dog. Hers loaded with cheese, mine pristine and clean and healthy. She choose to eat hers with a fork and knife while I powered mine down before anything could fall off the bun. By the way they knocked off 20% of the cost because it was more than an hour before game time. Eat early and save. The Cubs have about 20 grounds keepers , a whole platoon manicuring the field before the game. The Cubs and Cardinals are huge rivals so there were thousands of Cardinal fans at the game to make it a fun environment. Another tip if you ever visit Wrigley, buy your peanuts outside the stadium, for about the same price you get twice as much and they let you take the peanuts into the stadium. I visited the statue of Billy Williams before the game. Remembering the words of Ernie Banks, it was beautiful day to play two. A trend has definitely been established, in all five stadiums the visiting team has won. I hope they let us into the stadium in Cincinnati.
