While the Royals are not a very good team, The K is a great place to watch a game. I had the best ballpark meal I have ever had. A double brisket sandwich with beans and potato salad. The barbecue flavor was outstanding. The parking was a little confusing getting into the game, because they separate the parking into two sides and there is no cross over once you make a decision. We had great seats, 11 rows up from the visiting dugout. We had excellent site lines. The stadium was built in 1973 so it is one of the older ones, but has been reconditioned and is well maintained. As you look at the outfield it is visually pleasing with waterfalls in left and fountains in right behind the fences. In center there is a huge scoreboard with the largest video screen this side of Cowboy Stadium. The K will be the site of the 2012 All Star game, hopefully a Royal will be playing in the game. They take great care with the field, even dragging the warning track before the game. All around MLB they were recognizing Mothers by wearing pink armbands and using pink bats, some of the Royals took things a step further by wearing pink shoes. That was a first for me. Tomorrow is an off day as we travel north, we will be staying in Des Moines, Iowa on our way to the game in Minneapolis Tuesday night.
