We set out for Cooperstown for an amazing day of baseball memories. Each traveler got the opportunity to get a picture taken with the six Hall of Famers in town. Ozzie Smith and Phil Neikro seemed to make the picture taking a fun, casual, relaxing, awesome, shivering moment for everyone. Soon, all the travelers will get the picture in the mail to show and brag in their hometown!!!
Before midday, we were exclusively invited to an Artifacts spotlight presentation of baseball history that is not on display to the public within the Hall of Fame. The presenter told brief stories of each piece.
The Baseball Hall of Fame Classic Game (Old Timer’s Game) was great fun for the players and the fans too. Twenty Six former major league players participated. Phil Neikro’s team won on a walk-off single by Desi Reliford to beat Ozzie Smith’s team.
We finished the day with a Voices of the Game. The six hall of famers enjoyed a question and answer session about their playing careers, about baseball rules, and about the Hall of Fame. Burt Blyleven and Eddie Murray were big favorites.
Tomorrow: Back to Cooperstown to explore the Hall of Fame Museum.
