Curious sports fans who are interested in traveling with Sports Travel and Tours but don’t know where to start are in luck! The company offers informative webinars titled “Sports Travel and Tours 101” every other month to showcase what their upcoming adventures are all about.
Led by Michael Coldesina, manager of travel industry accounts for Sports Travel and Tours, the webinars provide an overview of the company as well as details on the major upcoming sporting events and corresponding travel packages. The 25- to 30-minute presentations, which feature a 45-slide PowerPoint, routinely conclude with a question-and-answer feature, during which time listeners can ask specific questions.
On alternating months, Michael also offers a webinar that takes a close look at an upcoming trip. For example, each July, Sports Travel and Tours offers several packages that take travelers to the annual Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cooperstown, N.Y. “This year, in preparation for the induction ceremony, we offered a webinar for participants on what to expect,” Michael says. “It gives us a chance to go into detail on different trip events.”
The Rose Bowl trip packages, and trips focused around pro and college football, were the hot topic of a recent webinar in September.
“Sports Travel and Tours offers multiple Rose Bowl packages,” Michael says. “Some include tickets to the game and the Tournament of Roses Parade. Others don’t include game tickets, but do feature the parade and sightseeing tours of Los Angeles. So there are a lot of great trip packages for me to tell travelers about.”
In November, a webinar is scheduled that will focus on spring events, primarily baseball road trips, the Kentucky Derby and the Final Four Championship in college basketball.
Then, for those devoted baseball fans, Sports Travel and Tours traditionally offers a webinar in December featuring all things baseball. Michael will talk baseball road trips galore, including trips to the All-Star game, the College World Series and the Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony. What better way to get excited for next year’s baseball season?
Sports Travel and Tours has made a point of offering webinars for many years now. Originally, the sessions were led by Director of Sales Teresa Weybrew, but Michael began overseeing them back in mid-2012, just a few months after he started working with Sports Travel and Tours. However, he was by no means new to the webinar scene.
“I’ve done a lot of similar live presentations, as well as webinars, in previous positions with other companies,” Michael explains. “I’ve been in the travel industry for over 20 years, working for AAA Mid-Atlantic, Apple Vacations and Air Jamaica.”
Now, for Sports Travel and Tours, Michael conducts separate webinar sessions for consumers and travel agents. The next “Sports Travel and Tours 101” webinar will be held Tuesday, October 20 at 7 p.m. for consumers and Wednesday, October 21 at 1 p.m. for travel agents.
