Cooperstown returned to a quiet village of peacefulness and smaller crowds of baseball fans. After Saturday’s excitement and events, Sunday was restful and relaxing for the travelers. Each of the travelers had time to explore the Hall of Fame museum and find their favorite Hall of Famers, favorite teams and favorite baseball historical highlights.
From Saturday, Orest Marrero (former LA Dodger) hit a home run in the Saturday classic game. On Sunday Orest was spotted on Main Street enjoying the day. Burt Blyleven was on Main Street and inside the Hall of Fame on Sunday also. Charles and Robert were fortunate to talk to Burt Blyleven briefly and get autographed baseballs.
Sunday was also a great day for baseball souvenirs and baseball travelers spending time making new friends.
The Saturday evening “Voices of the Game” featured six Hall of Famers talking about their careers in baseball and the family and friends that helped them along the way Ozzie Smith, Tony Perez, Phil Neikro, Eddie Murray, Carlton Fisk, and Burt Blyleven had fun poking fun at one another at a Double Day Field event. Monday: New York, New York. Yankees Stadium Tour and New York Yankees game. Play Ball!
